The two combined revolutions, known together as the Russian Revolution of 1917, ended the former government of Russia, which at the time was a monarchy. This monarchy had been in place since 1547, and the country would obviously need a new, better working type of government. For them, the answer was communism. Communism is a type of political and economic idea that is based off of Marxism. The idea of it is that all people, no matter the class, are equal. They all get equal pay and they all get equal amount of power. That means that a doctor would be making the same pay as a burger flipper at McDonald's. It was created by the revolutionist philosopher Karl Marx. He was German, and was born into a wealthy-middle class family. But later on in life he was exiled to Brussels, where he first started dealing with communism. Little did he know that his idea would become such a huge controversy later on in life. What i mean is that his idea of Communism/Marxism was for good, but the Russians didn't use it that way.
Bread was now abundant for everyone!!!
